Sanford Lyon (b. Nov. 20, 1831, in Machias, Maine; d. Nov. 30, 1882, in Newhall) was an early SCV entrepreneur. He was co-owner, with twin brother Cyrus, and proprietor of the Lyons Station stagecoach stop from the 1850s(?) until 1876. It was located somewhere in the vicinity of today's Eternal Valley Cemetery, and possibly closer to the northwest corner of the present-day Sierra Highway-Newhall Avenue intersection.

Lyon was buried in the Pioneer Cemetery near Lyon's Station; about 1958, the graves of the original Pioneer Cemetery were moved to the nearby Garden of Pioneers at Eternal Valley Cemetery on the former Lyon property.
