Carlos Elento Imperial

Carlos (Caloy) Elento Imperial entered the world on November 4, 1942, in Sabtang, Batanes, Philippines, born to Maria Elento and Jose Imperial.

He spent his childhood on the family farm while completing his early education at Sabtang Elementary School and Batanes High School in Basco, Batanes. He moved to Manila, Philippines to attend Far Eastern University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce (Accounting) in 1968. After graduation, Carlos started his accounting career in Manila and used his success to assist his younger siblings' University education pursuits.

During his time in Manila, he met his future wife, Rosalina Carlos. They both desired to emigrate to the United States and did so, separately, in 1971. Once in the U.S., they married on December 18, 1971. They settled in Los Angeles where Carlos continued his career in accounting and Rosalina worked for the Los Angeles Unified School District.

They had their only child, Maria Irina Imperial, in 1975 and continued their hard-working American dream in 1979 by purchasing their own home in Valencia, where Carlos lived until his passing.

During his early years in the US, Carlos also studied computer programming in the evenings and transitioned his career into Computer Programming and Business Systems Analyst until he retired in 2004.

Carlos was a principled family man that always lived in the moment. He was an avid Los Angeles sports fan (Lakers, Rams, Dodgers and USC Trojans), and enjoyed playing and watching golf. But most of all, he enjoyed a good laugh at gatherings, talking about Batanes and visiting his family in the Philippines.

Carlos is survived by his wife, Rosalina Carlos Imperial; his daughter, Maria Imperial Roberson (Brian Ski Roberson); brother Pedro Imperial; sisters Pelagia Imperial Gabilo, Zenaida Imperial Veracruz; plus many loved nieces, nephews and extended family. Carlos is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Imperial and Maria Elento; brother Ramon Imperial; and sister Josefina Imperial Fajardo.
