Right foreground*: Thornton Edwards, the so-called "Paul Revere of the St. Francis Dam Disaster," who rode his police motorcycle door-to-door during the wee hours of March 13, 1928, to warn sleepy Santa Paula residents of the impending flood, co-stars in Monogram's 1947 Cisco Kid picture, "Robin Hood of Monterey." Read about Edwards' police and film careers here. Filmed at the Iverson Ranch in Chatsworth and possibly in Placerita Canyon, "Robin Hood of Monterey" features Gilbert Roland as The Cisco Kid and Edwards as El Capitan along with Chris-Pin Martin, Evelyn Brent, Jack La Rue, Pedro de Cordoba, Donna Martell, Travis Kent, Nestor Paiva and Ernie Adams. Uncredited cast includes Fred Cordova, Ray Jones, Bob McElroy, Alex Montoya, George Navarro, Artie Ortego, Julian Rivero, Felipe Turich and Bob Woodward. Placeritos (Monogram) Ranch owner E.R. "Ernie" Hickson is credited as the technical director and is listed on IMDB as the art director, which gives a strong indication that his movie ranch (the future Melody Ranch) was probably used. Hickson was usually listed as technical and/or art director when he provided sets (his movie ranch) and props from his on-site prop warehouse. *cq: Peggy Kelly
